Employer Basic Rights
Many employers overlook the fact that they too have some basic rights
Every employer has a right to ask employees to:
- Do the job they are employed to do (Performance),
- Behave appropriately when within the workplace (Behaviour)
- Turn up for work when they are meant to (Attendance). So just how do employers achieve their basic employer rights without infringing the rights of their employees? This is the biggest challenge facing employers today.
If business owners had a better understanding of the ‘challenges' of managing under-performance or unsatisfactory behaviour and made better use of the basic Performance Management tools, many performance, behaviour and attendance issues would be resolved more effectively and without infringing the basic employment (or human) rights of employees.
We can help employers gain a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities as well as identifying possible options to help resolve their issues. Give us a call!
